I am a professor in Michigan where I live with my family and my crazy but adorable dog. My favorite class to teach, or in this instance co-teach with my colleague Gordon Mackinnon, is "The Psychology and Theology of Horror, Science Fiction, and Fantasy." I enjoy popular culture and have published writings on Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Gilmore Girls, and Glee. I have also published an essay on the apocalyptic superhero, focusing on X-Men, Spawn, Batman, and Superman (though Spider-Man is and always will be my favorite).
